Axxam is a privately hold research-driven Biotech Company founded in 2001 and employing 60 highly qualified collaborators in Milan. The company has leading expertise, know-how and cutting-edge technologies for the early stages of the drug discovery process. Axxam has extensive experience with bioassay development for high-throughput screening, either cell- or biochemically based. The expertise is in the following target classes:GPCRs, nuclear hormone receptors, ion channels, transporters, ion exchangers, proteases, kinases and cytokine receptors. Furthermore, Axxam has acquired expertise in assay development of particularly challenging targets derived from genomic data. High-throughput screening functional assays and lead profiling are available for over 100 key drug targets.

Key persons involved in the project:

The key expertise of Dr Sabrina Corazza is in the field of target identification and advanced screening assay system development. Dr Cinzia Nucci will handle assay optimisation and data analysis and Katja Blasi will run cell cultures and toxicity assays.
